Notes: Acclaimed at the time, this neo-realist Italian drama is somewhat forgotten today. Melbourne took to it though, providing it with seven weeks at the Savoy. Only four suburban bookings though, but kudos to this exhibitors willing to take this film on, when so few foreign features were shown on suburban screens.
