Notes: Noir-ish Columbia drama premiered in a Hoyts city venue then experienced a rather odd release, playing at both Hoyts’ Memorial and Union’s Astor in its first up suburban week, plus only two other Union houses in its third week it had widened to a total of ten theatres – a pattern rarely seen on the Union track. Yet, although enjoying a hefty number of weeks (as per Union standard) it played more on Saturdays, thus keeping its EF score to 236 points (and sneaking into the top 100). A good, second tier result on the Hoyts circuit, but middling on Union’s for a top-lining product.
